Camper Van Fun! Indian Creek, Utah

living in a camper van

Wow. I spent a great week in my van at Indian Creek. I met up with a few friends who have been traveling in their camper van for the past 9 months. We spent the week climbing, hanging out and enjoying the beauties of the high desert. Indian Creek is part of the Canyon lands in southern Utah. It features massive plateaus which are guarded on all sides by 300 foot, sheer sandstone cliffs. The natural beauty is amazing and the unique vistas are only enhanced by the changing day light. Winter In New Mexico

Farrah and I arrived in Taos, New Mexico about a week ago.  We’re happy to move into our nice adobe casita for the winter and stretch our legs for a few months.  I have been busy on a few new projects which is why I haven’t been posting here.  I will however be posting a bunch of pictures as soon as I get around to it.  I’ll also be updating this occasionally this Winter to share some news, insights and photographs from time to time. Taos is a beautiful little town at the base of the San Cristobal Mountains.  The

First Snow

Farrah and I woke up this morning to the sound of rain pounding on the roof and low hanging clouds clinging to the hills around us. We quickly took care of our morning responsibilities and started towards town in the van. It’s been so long since I’ve seen substantial rain that it feels new and strange and refreshing and beautiful all wrapped into one sense tingling experience. Looking out the windows of the cozy coffee shop I see that the mountains are blanketed in the first snow of the season. Looks like it’s changing to winter fast. Speaking of

Shifting Skies

Well it’s been a great time in Bishop.  We’ve been camping in the Buttermilks at the foot of the mountains and loving each day of it. Farrah had a nice and successful teaching at the local Yoga/Pilates studio in town and several of the participants showed interest in Lu Jong.  Bishop is a small town so the community shows a lot of interest in new practices and classes that are offered.   It’s  nice to see Farrah sharing this special practice with people and having a positive effect on their lives. The weather has been magnificent and even when a storm seems to

Friends

It’s been a fun week so far since arriving in Bishop. Farrah and I met up with our friends Cat  and Josh. They’re on similar trip, in a similar van, in similar geographical areas.  Cat and Josh are more focused on climbing big objectives and they’ve made  ascents of many super classic Sierra mountains over the past several months.  We got together for a day of multipitch climbing in Pine Creek Canyon as well as some bouldering at the Buttermilks and the Happy Boulders. It was good to connect with some friendly faces and hear some great stories of their
